THANDISWA MAZWAI GOES TO NEW YORK ÂÂ
I usually wouldn't write about this kind of story because I know that none of you will leave SA and head to New York City to see Thandiswa Mazwai perform. Or will you? Either way, I think that Thandiswa is flying the South African flag high, representing the Motherland abroad, she is an ambassador of note. The Bongo Maffin lead singer will be on stage with legendary Paul Simon on his Graceland 25th Anniversary Tour in New York. The Graceland tour coincides with the release of Paul Simon's 25th Anniversary Edition of the award-winning album, during which Thandiswa will perform the duet "Under African Skies" with Paul. Now that is boss... Other South African artists in this project are, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ray Phiri, Barney Rachabane and Cape Town-born multi-instrumentalist Tony Cedras. While in New York, Thandiswa also hopes to prepare for the recording of her new album later in the year. All the best to you Thandi... we love you so much.
