I assume that you have been watching the Olympics and have noticed that the Jamaicans are so good on the sprint. Just last night, Usian Bolts (or Usain Boil as other call him) from Jamaica won gold in the 100m sprint. In second place was Usain's fellow country man Yohan Blake. But have you wondered why they are so fast?
Most of you think that they smoke that purple haze and crap. Sorry to disappoint you. But here are a few factors I think might be valid:
- Genetics may play a role. The country is primarily made up of people of West African descent  a people that some scientists believe are genetically predisposed to be built for speed.
- In America, very black child grows up wishing to be a rapper, in the South Africa... they want to be DJs. But in Jamaica, it is believed that everyone wants to be a sprinter. Hmmmm...
- Most Jamaican sprinters train at night and on grass tracks.
But that country is damn great, I mean for a country with a population of just over 2.9 million. They have produced the fastest man in the world by the name Usain Bolts, and have also produced Bob Marley, a singer who sold 25 million albums worldwide and had one recording named the album of the century by Time Magazine. You gotta love Jamaica.
